I am asking constituents to get in touch if they know an entrepreneur they would like me to put forward for the Entrepreneur Awards supported by Octopus, Springboard.
The Entrepreneur Awards seek to recognise those individuals who have taken the rewarding yet brave decision to start their own business.
That is why Octopus has set up the awards and asked MPs to nominate entrepreneurs in their constituencies who have shown real entrepreneurial spirit in their local community.
Previous winners have included a local distiller who shifted production to hand sanitiser during the pandemic, as well as a furniture company who provided free furniture to local businesses and grew to employ 30 additional people at the height of the pandemic.
I know lots of entrepreneurs who have turned their business ideas into a reality and have committed to the hard work and dedication required to run a successful small business.
I want to recognise and celebrate as many of these inspiring entrepreneurs as possible, so if you know a local business founder who you think deserves recognition for their work over the last few years, then I’d very much like to hear from you.
If you would like to put someone forward, please contact my office via [email protected]
Nominations are open until Friday 8 April 2022, when the entries will then be reviewed by a panel of entrepreneurs and politicians – with award winners being invited to attend a virtual meeting with their MP to celebrate the thriving entrepreneurial community in the UK.
