This afternoon, I had a productive discussion with Mike Watson, the newly appointed interim managing director of First Buses about recent service cuts, and I raised the concerns of constituents who have contacted me.
To improve services there needs to be a far greater understanding of the needs of local people and a single bus map for the city produced which answers those needs.
The Council has a key role to play in an enhanced partnership with local bus companies. The £31 million of government funding for the Bus Improvement Plan will fund the work to be undertaken to shape a bus service appropriate for the city's needs.
