Today (20th January 2022) the Chancellor Rishi Sunak visited the Spode Works site in Stoke which is set to benefit from the Government's Levelling Up Fund to have a tour of the site and to see how the cash will be used to transform the historic former factory.
In the 2021 Autumn budget, the Chancellor allocated £56 million of government cash from the Levelling Up Fund to Stoke-on-Trent following funding bids by Jack Brereton MP, Jonathan Gullis MP, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, and myself. The Levelling Up money shows that the government absolutely understands the investment needed in Stoke-on-Trent.
