During a Westminster Hall debate on potholes, Stoke-on-Trent Central MP Jo Gideon called for further investment in our city's road and transport network, through the Transforming Cities Fund.

Jo asked her colleague Jonathan Gullis MP :

"I am grateful to my hon friend and constituency neighbour for giving way. I am sure he would agree with me that the resurfacing of key sections of the Stoke-on-Trent network – not least Joiners Square and Snow Hill roundabouts – has been of great benefit across the city and we need more of it.  Would he agree that the Transforming Cities Fund bid offers similar cross-city benefits, offering increased connectivity and better public, private, and commercial traffic flow – on road and rail - across the six historic market towns that make up our city?"

During the debate Transport minister Rachel Maclean said she understood the issues around potholes and road repairs faced by areas such as Stoke-on-Trent, adding that the city had been allocated £1.5 million from the Government's pothole fund this year.
