They met with MP Jo Gideon on Thursday evening to discuss how the issue could be resolved - and she pledged to continue conversations with the council.
Ms Gideon said: “Obviously it’s a really tough time for residents. They just want access to their homes - and, after two and a half years that isn’t unreasonable.
“I’m determined to have more discussions with the council to try and find a solution that will give them access to their homes as quickly as possible - otherwise I’m sure residents will want to take their own initiative.”
“Residents have seen very heavy vehicles driving on the road and nothing has happened - we’ve seen incredibly heavy bollards being dumped on top of the utilities - so if the road is that dangerous, you have to ask yourself if this is the right action.
“I absolutely sympathise, and these are questions I will be asking the council.”
