The excellent work in Stoke-on-Trent on the ‘Fulfilling Lives’ programme has been recognised with £3.9 million funding, which will allow it to continue over the next three years as part of the 'Changing Futures’ programme, joint-funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Vulnerable adults in Stoke-on-Trent facing issues such as homelessness, substance misuse or mental health difficulties will receive tailored, joined-up support as part of a new government programme.
I was so impressed with the presentations of Expert Citizens and Voices, and the emphasis on their ‘person centred’ approach to tailor support programmes to each individual and their circumstances. The value of lived experience in building trust and empathy with the hardest to reach makes all the difference.
