I hosted a roundtable of locally-based manufacturing companies at Michelin. Attended by some of the most prominent businesses in Stoke-on-Trent Central, it was an opportunity for a discussion about the key challenges facing manufacturers.
We have some fantastic local businesses in Stoke-on-Trent and I'm determined to do everything I can to help them grow and thrive, because that's how we will drive forward our economy and create more high-wage, high-skilled jobs for local people.
This roundtable, bringing together some of the largest manufacturers, was a good opportunity to discuss both the steps Government can take to support manufacturing and what we can do locally to support business growth. Cllr Abi Brown shared what Stoke City Council’s priorities are.
Thank you to Tom Tugendhat MP for also attending the roundtable. As the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, it was great to have him join us to hear about the issues which are being faced by the sector due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
Future roundtables are planned and I am keen to bring in even more local manufacturing businesses, so if you would like to join the future roundtables, please email me at [email protected]
